Blurb for Record of Floating Darkness

This story follows two timelines, past and present, told in alternating chapters.

The present-day entertainment industry is full of intrigue, while the nations of the underworld wage political power struggles in the past.

*Present-day storyline:

[Bottom] Qi Luo: A bit-part actor who becomes a top star, straightforward, stubborn, and sweetly naive

[Top] Li An: A bestselling author with a great secret, gentle and refined, with a deeply hidden cunning side

Qi Luo:

Despite graduating from a prestigious university, he has spent six years playing bit parts because he refused to submit to unspoken rules.

Just as Qi Luo is about to give up, Li An, the author of the smash-hit IP Record of Floating Darkness, seeks him out and insists he play the leading man.

Is my acting finally being recognized? Or does this handsome author want to take advantage of me?

He wants me to go to his house every day to read the original novel? Does this handsome author really want to take advantage of me?

We live together and sleep in the same bed! Could this handsome author really not be trying to take advantage of me?!

A refined gentleman orders Longjing tea at a coffee shop?

An erudite intellectual asks for grilled lamb kidneys at a private restaurant?!

What kind of supernatural being is Li An, and why does he always stand up for me?

When I'm framed in a scandal, attacked online and left homeless, or injured by a sasaeng fan...

No matter what happens, why is Li An always by my side?

All right, I get it. This handsome author definitely wants to take advantage of me!!!

The world of the book gradually begins to merge with reality, and past and present intertwine.

It turns out that the two of them have been bound together for thousands of years...

- Qi Luo: The two of us... have we known each other for a long time?

- Li An: Yes.

- Qi Luo: How long?

- Li An: A long time.

*Past-life storyline:

[Bottom] Yin Yichuan: A ghost infant who becomes the Five Yin Nether Lord, with a gentle smile and a knack for reading people's hearts

[Top] Wei Zhifeng: Once a gentleman who would never do what was wrong, he eventually did anything for you.

Yin Yichuan:

His origins are a mystery, and Yin Yichuan grows up struggling under the name "Ghost Infant."

He accidentally enters a divine realm outpost and meets Wei Zhifeng, a god of the Three Pure Heavens. One glance, and a thousand years pass.

By an unlucky twist of fate, he is swept into the chaos of the Five Yin and descends to the underworld.

The Cliff of Falling Thoughts, the Road to the Yellow Springs, the Waters of Forgetfulness, the Five Roads and Six Bridges... Is the underworld really as the human world describes it?

Northern Yin Fengdu, Southern Yin Floating Wall, Eastern Yin Ghost Gate, Western Yin Tomb of the Dead, Central Yin Cloudveil... Are the Five Yin's political struggles really no different from those of the human world?

Flood dragons, mengji beasts, bifang birds, quique birds, paoxiao beasts, and twenty-four ghosts, including demons and goblins... How will he find his way through this strange new world?

The Three Pure Heavens, Kunlun's Immortal Realm, the Thirty-Six Heavens, the Five Yin Netherworld, the Twenty-Four Hells... He roams between heaven, earth, and the underworld, yet has nowhere to call home?

To his shock, he really is "half human, half ghost"?

He only wanted to find his deceased mother, but instead found his biological father?

Once he only wanted to escape his hometown, but now all three realms are hunting him?

With nowhere left to turn, he might as well stake his life on one final fight.

From then on, you and I will travel together, gods and ghosts, through a boundless world of mountains and seas, beneath a nameless sky and earth.

- Wei Zhifeng: Yin Yichuan, do you want to become the Ghost Emperor?

- Yin Yichuan: ...

- Wei Zhifeng: Just tell me, do you want to or not?

- Yin Yichuan: I do.

Theme: From the Three Pure Heavens to the Boundless Hell, it is all a Game of Thrones.
