In her previous life, Princess Xian'an, Li Muyue, was an obedient, naive princess. She did her best to fulfill her father's wishes, becoming the first legitimate Tang princess to be sent to the Uyghur Khaganate in a political marriage. But her excessive innocence and kindness meant she was always meeting bad people.
She died young in childbirth in the Uyghur royal encampment.
In this life, Li Muyue decides to bravely fight against fate. She learns to take the initiative and pursue what she wants. When she faces life at sixteen with the wisdom of someone nearly thirty, everything seems different.
Not only does she have her childhood friend Yuchi Rui devoted to her, but she also meets a host of talented young men while studying at the Imperial Academy. Han Yu is her teacher, Bai Juyi is her friend. She's the beloved darling of an age of prosperity.
After the An Lushan Rebellion, the glory of the High Tang is gone. The Tang dynasty is attacked on both sides, beset by enemies and battered by storms. When the nest is destroyed, how can the eggs survive?
When the fate of an entire nation suddenly rests on the frail shoulders of a woman, she has no choice but to bear it.
The road from Chang'an to the Uyghur royal encampment is more than two thousand li, and the journey for a political marriage is exceptionally difficult. Fortunately, Erke, the Uyghur prince's attendant, stays by her side throughout. He was adopted by the Uyghur Khagan as a child, then came to Chang'an with the Uyghur prince to study.
Li Muyue once came to his aid when he was at his lowest.
He grows into a warrior god, defeats the Shiwei tribes, conquers the remnants of the Tubo, and drives the Kyrgyz back to the Yenisei River. At last, he rises from a miserable boy to become the Huai Xin Khagan of the Uyghurs, the khagan of all the khagans of the northern steppe.
In the lush Orkhon Valley, facing the towering and majestic Mount Yanshan, Erke sits on his warhorse clad in leather armor and says to Li Muyue, "Princess Xian'an, do you have time to marry me now?"
Li Muyue smiles at him.
"I'm afraid if I don't hurry up and propose this time, you'll get married off again!"
Li Muyue: "..."
She thinks: How is this my fault? You should blame your nomadic custom of levirate marriage!
They save each other, grow together, and help each other succeed.
Some characters and events are fictionalized. Please don't nitpick the historical details.
Content warning: Due to the distinctive customs of ethnic minorities, Princess Xian'an marries four times in her life. But in this story, she and Erke belong to one another in both body and heart.
No melodramatic fights or backstabbing. The leads love each other. I just want to tell a story of a princess sent to marry for peace in a chaotic age, and how she protects herself and others along the way.
My next contemporary romance, "The Socially Anxious Cartoonist and the Top-Tier Star Racing Driver", is now open for follows! Please add it to your collection!
Xiao Yue's mother dies during her third year of university, leaving behind a huge debt, so Xiao Yue works as a tutor to pay it off.
Her student is Xie Zeyu, whose parents are both overseas. He's already a head taller than Xiao Yue at fifteen.
She asks if he's finished his test paper. He asks if she has a date after class and whether she wants to go for a drive in his car.
Xiao Yue pauses, then bluntly points out the truth: "It's illegal for minors to drive."
Over winter break, Xiao Yue's phone SIM card stops working, so she can't make calls. After she gets a new one, the first call that comes in isn't from her boyfriend. It's from Xie Zeyu.
When they meet, Xie Zeyu looks aggrieved. "Teacher Xiao, that's because I've been calling you nonstop." The boy has brought her chocolate from North America. It's a little melted, but still deliciously sweet.
She has an argument with her boyfriend. The boy sees her tear-reddened eyes and comforts her, asking if she wants to have dinner with him. He says he can fry an egg.
A pickpocket slashes her bag on the subway and steals her wallet and ID. Xie Zeyu packs her things into his own backpack, and Xiao Yue feels the boy's heart shining with sincerity.
Eight years later, Xiao Yue has gone through a boyfriend's infidelity, her father's remarriage, and a soul-crushing job at a major corporation before quitting. Now she is a minor cartoonist. She doesn't make much money, but she can stay at home, which suits her social anxiety.
When she passes the pricey billboards in the heart of the city, she sees Xie Zeyu's face. The little boy has become an untouchable superstar, and Xiao Yue thinks it feels like a dream.
If not for a rear-end collision, the two might never have crossed paths again.
Xie Zeyu pursues her fiercely. But besides being a top-tier star, he's also a racing driver and an extreme sports enthusiast who enjoys skydiving. Everything points to him being a playboy, and he's seven years younger than she is.
She agrees they can get along like friends, or at most as an older sister and younger brother. Xie Zeyu agrees.
But one drunken night after a banquet throws their relationship into disarray.
At thirty, Xiao Yue realizes: How can it possibly be the same to fall in love with just anyone? A love so passionate you would fly into the flames for it, one you could still remember on your deathbed, can only happen once in a lifetime.
It turns out that even a cool top-tier star turns into an ardent puppy when he's in love. Tell him he sings well, and he'll immediately sing for you on the spot. How is that any different from a puppy wagging its tail?
The fifteen-year-old puppy already knew how to love someone. At twenty-three, he's even better at it, and he's top-tier in other ways, too...
"Teacher Xiao, can I take you for a drive now?" Xie Zeyu asks again, looking at her tenderly in his racing suit.
A youthful crush finally comes true.
Theme: They save each other, grow together, and help each other succeed.
Wasn't Princess Ning Guo the first imperial daughter to marry a Uighur in the Tang Dynasty?
When I read the last chapter, I almost thought it was BE. I just wanted to cry, but then I realized. It was so well written. I like Princess Xianyang very much. Apart from Wu Zetian in the Tang Dynasty, my favorite female character is of course Empress Changsun. Thank you, I really appreciate seeing the ending of Princess Xianyang!
After reading this, give it a thumbs up! ! Keep your claws~
Come on, come on, come on
I like the theme of marrying a princess. The male and female protagonists are in love with each other without any bloodshed. Please do more updates!
I can feel that Da Da is very serious in writing and has put a lot of thought into it. Cheers Da Da ^0^~
