[A road-trip story set in southern Xinjiang]
[A story about love and freedom]
Wen Yan first met Jiang Chengyan on a desolate, endless highway in Kizilsu.
By chance, he found the engagement ring she had thrown away.
Wen Yan met Jiang Chengyan for the second time after the last ray of sunlight faded in the far west. He rushed out to stop her car and asked, "Could you give me a ride?"
Wen Yan had a simple purpose for this trip west: she just wanted to find somewhere no one knew her and end her life.
But Jiang Chengyan saved her.
They met again.
For once, Wen Yan felt guilty and planned to pretend she didn't know him.
Jiang Chengyan frowned at her and opened his mouth to speak.
Wen Yan thought he was about to say something he shouldn't, so she hurriedly said, "I'm married."
Jiang Chengyan's face darkened. Through gritted teeth, he said, "That's fine. You can still get divorced."
--Even when thick clouds gather, dawn and clear skies will always come.
--"Wen Yan, whatever joys or sorrows this encounter brings, I welcome it with all my heart."
Theme: I traveled three thousand li west, and met you amid the wild winds and desert.
