"Tom, you don't understand love at all." "Don't act like you understand everything! Take a look. Who's the girl lying in that bed right now? You were the one who blocked out my sunlight back then, Dumbledore. And now you dare accuse me of not understanding love?"

He couldn't forget how she had looked when she first arrived at school, sitting on the three-legged stool while the Sorting Hat whispered in her ear, her face still so young. Her original aspirations had never changed. He couldn't forget how she had run up to him in a huff, demanding to know why he hadn't eaten breakfast. He couldn't forget the delight on her face when she successfully cast a spell, or the way she worked so hard to pursue her ideals. It all seemed like yesterday.

But then a spell shattered that beautiful illusion.

That night, the wind howled, and rain poured down harder than ever before. His girl slowly fell from the sky.

"Dumbledore, do you understand? If I could, I really wish you'd never come to us, never told us we were wizards, never told us magic was real. We could have lived like ordinary people in the orphanage. Everything could have stayed the way it was."

"She really is a proper Gryffindor. She never thinks about the consequences. She just charges ahead without hesitation."
