Calamity

The tenth princess, daughter of the treacherous beauty who brought a kingdom to ruin, was to be married off to the Kingdom of Luo to secure peace. The concubines in the palace were gloating: They heard the Crown Prince of Luo was fond of men.

On the day she bade farewell to the empress, the tenth princess heard about this and asked them pleasantly, “At least my father isn't fond of men. So why are all of you still languishing alone?”

Then she left the palace in all her finery, leaving the concubines so furious they couldn't eat for three days. They cursed that the daughter of a calamity-bringing beauty was just as much of a calamity.

The tenth princess, meanwhile, married the crown prince and settled into his residence without a hitch, living up to her reputation as a calamity.

What could she do? She was born beautiful.
