Her name is Xuan Yu, and her Daoist title is Turtle-Spirit Holy Mother. She is one of the four inner disciples of the Jie School, the only daughter of the Black Tortoise who sacrificed himself to mend the heavens, and the disciple Tongtian has gone to great lengths to protect. Yet during the Calamity of the Investiture of the Gods, her powers are sealed and she is transformed into her original form. The Mosquito Taoist then drains all her magical power, leaving her dead and her spirit destroyed.

He is Tongtian Jiaozhu, one of the Three Pure Ones formed from Pangu's primordial spirit, and one of the Sages of Heaven. The moment Turtle-Spirit dies, he comes to hate Laozi and Yuanshi.
