Steve had only recently been dug out of the ice and was still slowly adapting to modern life. S.H.I.E.L.D. had found him a new place in a pretty good location, and the family across the hall were all incredibly good-looking. It would have been even better if strange noises didn't often come from their apartment late at night.
One day, a young man cried for help from the neighbors' apartment.
"Help! No, no! I don't want to! Waaaah, let go of me!"
"???" Steve knocked, but no one answered. Thinking he had stumbled upon a kidnapping, forced prostitution, or some other crime, Steve broke down the door. All he heard was the young man shouting:
"I don't want to go to school! I want to play video games! I'll die without video games!"
"..." Steve thought he might have figured out what those late-night noises were about.

Mysius: Steve! Can I touch your chest?
Mysius: Steve! Can I borrow your chest as a mouse pad?
Mysius: Steve! Whose chest is bigger, yours or Superman's?
Steve: Language!

Content warnings:
1. I'm still slowly catching up on Marvel and DC. I've only seen some movies and TV shows, so I can't handle intense scrutiny. Feel free to explain source material in the comments!
2. When the protagonists or supporting characters aren't from Earth, please don't judge them by human standards. A character's worldview does not equal the author's.
3. Includes OOC, original headcanons, and a messy timeline.
4. Synapseans are at the top in every regard in this story.
5. There will be a fair amount of memes and references. The author's note at the end of each chapter will explain them, unless they're foreshadowing.
6. The protagonist's ability was inspired by the power "Weight of Words" of the character "Toshiro Kunitachi."
7. For the sake of the plot and foreshadowing, readers who are particular about purity should proceed with caution. Seriously, be warned! (Emphasis added)
