Deliberately Tempting You

Song Ci had always been unruly, skipping class and getting into fights like it was all part of the package. In his teachers' eyes, he was a classic problem student. If they had to say anything in his favor, it was that he was handsome and came from a wealthy family. He'd won before the race even started.

After the second year of high school split students into arts and sciences, Shen Zexiao, the god-tier student who had mercilessly dominated the rankings, unexpectedly dropped out of the honors class and ended up in a regular class. As luck would have it, Song Ci, who was rumored to be on terrible terms with him, was there too.

At dusk, the sky burned a fierce red. Shen Zexiao cornered Song Ci against a wall. He lowered his eyes, and farther away, books and exam papers fluttered through the air like white petals.

"I don't want to be your brother anymore. We've been at it for over a decade," Shen Zexiao said with a smile. "I'm tired of it."

Song Ci leaned lazily against the wall, letting Shen Zexiao do as he pleased. He watched him with an amused, knowing look, then suddenly reached out, grabbed his collar, and pulled him closer. "Then how about being my boyfriend?"

Shen Zexiao smiled, lowered his head, and kissed him. The cheers gradually faded into the wind.

It was midsummer, with the breeze of June.

Because of you, I had the choice to become a better person.
