Esther Bulstrode is a Slytherin with a few screws loose. How she got into Slytherin is still a mystery. Barty Crouch Jr. says she must have bribed the Sorting Hat.

There's a nineteen-year age gap. Consider this a warning about age-of-consent laws. The setup is as follows:

a) Barty Crouch Jr. is released during their third year, after an investigation finds he did not harm Neville's parents.

b) Barty Crouch Jr. spends the rest of his life recovering at St. Mungo's, and Voldemort never returns.

c) Barty's mother doesn't break him out, so he stays in Azkaban.

d) Esther Bulstrode is a Slytherin and Millicent's cousin.

e) Esther's mother, Joanna, was a senior in Barty Crouch Jr.'s house.

f) Esther is at home during her seventh year, so she goes to school after the battle, just like Hermione.

This is somewhat related to Lin Xianyue's works. Two of her characters appear in this story.

Fred won't die, and Snape is alive too. It's best to read this without thinking too hard.
