Baili Qiansui is a frail, pampered young master, born with a sickly constitution. No matter how much medicine he takes for the ailment he was born with, nothing seems to help.
One day, a Daoist priest arrives at the young master's home. Everyone calls him “Immortal Master,” but it turns out this Daoist is a great demon who has cultivated for a thousand years. The sickly young master knows he's a demon and lives in constant fear, worrying that the creature who saved him must have some ulterior motive.
But little by little, he realizes the demon has never done anything to harm him. Just as he lets down his guard and prepares to marry, the Daoist demon takes issue with it.
Chen Qi: “Didn't you ask me what I wanted?”
Qiansui nods. “I did say that. Have you decided what you want to ask of me?”
Chen Qi narrows his eyes and smiles: “Will you give me anything I want?”
Qiansui: “A gentleman keeps his word. Of course!”
Chen Qi scoops him into his arms, lowers his voice, and whispers in his ear: “I want you. Will you give yourself to me, young master?”
