[The Outcast] 818: That Scummy Gu Poisoner

A plague of insects has broken out on Wudang Mountain. The Gu witch Yunlong Daoist invited is completely unreliable. Most practitioners of witchcraft and poison are over sixty, but he brought in someone barely in her twenties. Her experience and expertise are nowhere near those of a true Xiangxi family. Not only is she unreliable, she loves slacking off. Whenever she gets a break, she watches Korean dramas, runs a side business selling things online, fusses with cosmetics, and shops online for luxury handbags. In short, she's as vulgar as they come, and sticks out like a sore thumb among the people of Wudang Mountain. Jiang Yun blew her ear-splitting flute for ages, and finally a little green snake slowly answered, poking its head out. She said, "Don't be afraid, everyone! This green-patterned snake is naturally shy and timid. It runs away whenever it sees people..." But the green snake bared its fangs, hissed furiously, and lunged at Wang Ye. Wang Ye, who had been so lazy he was almost falling asleep, suddenly raised a hand and swiftly used his qi to subdue the frenzied snake beneath his foot. Jiang Yun: ...Maybe this one is just unusually bold. Wang Ye: You little punk, and I actually believed you? Just an idea I'm staking out. I'm here to ship Wang Daozhang. Warning: The female lead isn't a good person. She's morally gray, a bit like Xia He and a bit like A Qing. A note for readers: The male supporting character is A Qing, but this isn't a love triangle. Their relationship is very complicated. The tone is lighthearted, but there are knives mixed in with the sugar. A man like Old Wang, who cares about the fate of the extraordinary, can't just have a simple little romance. He has to suffer! Theme: Does your own life matter?
