"The Yellow Springs stretch for a hundred miles, covered in red spider lilies; the red spider lilies dye a hundred miles of the Yellow Springs red."
My hair, all white, I sit by the Bridge of Helplessness. The fragrance of red spider lilies lingers beneath my nose, and the sound of the Yellow Springs flowing fills my ears. After tens of millions of years of solitude, I have forgotten where I came from. I only remember stirring the spoon in my hand every day, serving a bowl of age-old soup to the spirits crossing the bridge. It erases the joys, sorrows, and grief of their past lives, and frees them of all they carried before they set off alone into their next cycle of rebirth.
"Excuse me, where is this?"
There are always people who ask me this before crossing the bridge. After a while, I stop answering and simply offer them a bowl of rich soup with a smile. Some drink it in a daze and head toward a new life. Others understand, refuse the soup, and won't cross the bridge, fleeing back the way they came...
Moral: Every second of every person's life has meaning, just like the butterfly effect
