In the apocalypse, everyone lives in fear.
Qiao Li has an easy job that keeps him just full enough to get by. Everyone around him calls him a pretty waste of space.
But he doesn't see it that way.
One day, a man dressed as an officer finds him and compliments his looks.
Qiao Li is delighted. "Tell me something I don't know!"
So the man introduces himself, says he's Qiao Li's supervisor, and adds, "I mean, I'm going to train you to become a fighter. You don't get a choice."
Qiao Li: ???
Qiao Li: …
In all his years, Qiao Li has never thought he had anything to do with fighting.
He thinks he's better suited to bringing people joy.
But his supervisor, Lu Sui, is utterly cold and stern, so Qiao Li can only train under his watch, crying miserably through high-intensity drills.
After a while, Lu Sui gives him a pair of decorative guns.
Qiao Li is confused. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Lu Sui explains, "It means you hit hard even when you're crying. Keep going."
Qiao Li: "...Fine. QAQ"

Everyone knows that Officer Lu, an exceptionally capable man with superb judgment, is away on a secret mission.
At first, everyone assumes he's quietly taking care of something important, until one day he shows up at the military's new recruit selection competition.
He stands beside a contestant with a delicate appearance and a weepy personality, there as his chaperone.
Then they hear the cold-looking, genuinely strict officer tell the contestant, "If you want to cry, then cry. Show them what you're made of."
Everyone is stunned. Sir, you never treated us like that...
Qiao Li covers his face and tries to compose himself. "I'm not going to cry. I absolutely won't! But Lu Sui said that if I win, he'll grant me one wish, no questions asked!"
So everyone watching the competition goes through the same emotional journey.
Qiao Li enters.
Everyone thinks: He looks so frail. How many punches can he take?
Qiao Li puts on sunglasses while crying.
Everyone thinks: ??? Now that's a transparent attempt to hide something!
Qiao Li gets started.
Everyone thinks: It's already impressive that he hasn't run away!
Qiao Li cries as he finishes a competition with over a thousand contestants in less than ten minutes.
Everyone thinks: ????????????? What did I just see?!
From then on, Qiao Li is a god in their eyes.
P.S.
The bottom is very delicate and cries a lot.
