The Male Lead Doesn't Want to Be a Mindless Gary Stu

Pairing: A suicidal Chosen One X a big villain who wants to live (roles undecided)

At the beginning of his pursuit of the Supreme Dao, Li Changxun discovered that his other name was Long Aotian: an overpowered, brainless wish-fulfillment protagonist in a typical cultivation novel.

His personal charm was so overwhelming that

powerful men wanted to become his underlings,

beautiful women wanted to become his cultivation partners,

fierce spirit beasts fought to be his mounts,

and adorable spirit beasts scrambled to be his pets.

Worst of all, he had hundreds of people on his list of forbidden scales: his underlings, his flirtations, even the old man selling buns at the village entrance...

He was always threatening to sacrifice someone's entire family, and on top of that, he'd shout "Don't bully a poor young man!" while doing it.

Li Changxun: Is that supposed to be me?!

Li Changxun's faith in the world and the Dao was turned upside down, so he decided to defy the plot.

He gave up pursuing the Dao and ran off to hide in the Hundred Thousand Mountains.

Running away may be shameful, but it works. There were no men or women in the Hundred Thousand Mountains, nor any cute spirit beasts.

Li Changxun was relieved.

Contentedly, he tried every possible way to die in the mountains, hoping to escape the world.

But poisonous fruit made his skin younger and more beautiful.

Venomous insects awakened his bloodline and made him even more powerful.

He crashed into a mountain and the mountain collapsed; he tried to slit his throat and his sword snapped.

He couldn't die.

Despairing, Li Changxun shouted, "I really want to die!"

The big villain, whose soul was suppressed deep within the Hundred Thousand Mountains, roared in fury, "I really want to come back to life!"

Li Changxun found the big villain. "Could you try killing me?"

The big villain: "First, you have to bring me back to life."

Li Changxun: "Deal. Just possess me."

The big villain: "...I'm not a ghost!"

Theme: The Long Aotian protagonist doesn't want to be a brainless Mary Sue.
