There's No Way I Could Like a Mermaid

Merfolk are spirits and sprites born from the purest essence.

They have many beautiful qualities to their name, such as beauty, pride, strength, and loyalty.

So much so that people often overlook the primal instinct to dominate and possess, which has never left their blood and bones.

Yan gave him his name.

Number One.

The first merfolk research subject.

She had rejected his advances more than once.

"I could never accept a merfolk, even if you weren't my research subject anymore."

One day, the merfolk, having tried every means at his disposal, asked her:

"If I weren't what you call a merfolk, but a human just like you, would you accept me then?"

"...I don't know."

In the cold, stark laboratory,

the merfolk's deep blue eyes curved gently.

Through the glass and rippling water,

they seemed to spill with fragments of starlight,

flowing into every space the light could reach.

Cool, frigid researcher with strong principles x powerful, bewitching research-subject merfolk with an overwhelming possessive streak
