A Farming Family of Scholars

Bad news: I transmigrated into a poor family as a frail little beanpole. Good news: I'm alive, both my parents are here, and my older siblings love me. In short, I have a hardworking father, a fiery mother, an honest older brother, a gentle older sister, and a frail little me. After five years of being born into the Cheng family, I finally awakened memories of my past life. Cheng Pingzhang, the family's third son, decided the first big thing to do after awakening was... change his name! Unable to stand the exhausting work of farming and laboring, and lacking any special skill, Cheng Pingzhang decided to study! He would govern from the court, ask questions of the Way, and bring peace to the realm through wise rule. He would study until his books fell apart, and make it to the top! From a tiny ferry beneath Cen Mountain in Xinan Prefecture, to the prefectural capital, to Jiangnan, to the capital, and onward to the frontier... From a poor scholar of humble origins to a marquis and minister who saved countless lives, Cheng Pingzhang followed the path of learning, with friends and family at his side. With a young man's ambition to soar among the clouds, he rose ever higher! Theme: Remember the lofty ambitions you had as a youth, when you vowed to become the finest person in the world.
