The Lord of Zhongyuan's Darling

Crybaby heroine × the strongest hero

"Hoshi-chan said she'd never betray me, but she still disappeared when I turned eighteen.", Nakahara Chuya, the Port Mafia's gravity manipulator

Eighteen-year-old Chuya never imagined that a single business trip would change everything. When he got back, his partner was gone, and so was his girlfriend. The worst part was, they had both vanished on the same day.

Now the whole Port Mafia is saying that Miss Ito ran off with Executive Dazai!

And everyone looks at him with a little pity.

If you want to get by in life, you have to wear a little green.

Gossip 1: Do you know the last text message between Miss Ito and Executive Dazai? (Whispers mysteriously.)

Gossip 2: I do, I do! It was from Lord Dazai: "Come to [redacted] right away. I'll be waiting."

Gossip 3: No way! That's proof!

Gossip 4: What else could you call that but hard evidence?

Gossip 5: And I heard the two of them even took the car Lord Chuya kept in the underground garage.

Gossip 6: That's brutal! Stealing someone's girl is bad enough, but they took his car too.

Inside the office

Boss Mori solemnly patted his best subordinate on the shoulder and said apologetically, "The organization has let you down." (He sounded rather guilty, as if his own pig had gone and eaten someone else's cabbage.)

Just how powerful is the Port Mafia's gossip mill?

The heroine, Ito Hoshi, had this to say: I must be surfing the internet on a 2G connection. Who started the rumor that we eloped? Can we all agree not to believe or spread rumors?

An irresponsible little skit

Tabloid reporter: Miss Ito and the gravity manipulator seem like a perfect match.

A certain man, denying his true feelings: How is that idiot a match for me? All she thinks about is food, and she still hasn't turned in several work reports.

Ito Hoshi suddenly appears with a bowl in her hands: Chuya, what are we eating later?

Tabloid reporter: ...Miss Ito, what did you think of your trip to another world?

Ito Hoshi: It was exciting and amazing. I'd even go again. After all, during our time in that other world, my fiance was so proactive every night, he would

Ito Hoshi didn't get to finish. The man beside her covered her mouth and carried her away.

Tabloid reporter: ???

The man, who had no idea Hoshi-chan would say such outrageous things: That's all for today's interview. Ask the rest of your questions tomorrow. I have something to discuss "thoroughly" with my fiance.

[Notes]

1. This is a sweet romance, and the timeline starts when they are fourteen.

2. The heroine's ultimate weapon against the hero is probably acting cute.

3. There is a reason the heroine can learn Japanese so quickly. It's not a plot hole or an innate talent. She doesn't know that she's missing some of her memories.

Coming soon in the author's collection: After Claiming Dazai Osamu Is My Boyfriend, the Real One Smiles and Asks, "Since When?"

Feel free to add it to your collection if you're interested.

In her first year after transferring to a Yokohama high school, Miyamoto Natsu stumbled upon the aftermath of a bloody fight.

To save her own skin, Miyamoto Natsu thought fast and shouted under pressure for everyone to hear: "My boyfriend is Dazai Osamu of the Port Mafia!"

What she really meant was: Try touching me and see what happens. You might all lose your heads.

The instant she said it, the whole scene fell silent, and every eye turned toward the person in the center seat.

Just as Miyamoto Natsu thought she'd intimidated everyone there

The handsome man playing with a dagger finally looked up. His gaze was deep and inscrutable, and he gave her a knowing, half-smile. "How about that? I don't remember having a little... lover like you."

A heroine who lies to survive × a truly powerful hero

Theme: Kindness and courage are two qualities worth treasuring.
