Tian Tian transmigrates into an apocalyptic novel, becoming a cannon-fodder spy chosen by the male lead, Long Aotian, to infiltrate the ranks of the villainous mutant beasts. In the end, they skin her and eat her alive for betraying them.
In this hard-mode world, Tian Tian is a combat-weak plant-type ability user who can grow only one apple tree at a time.
Fragile Tian Tian looks at the apple sapling in her palm, then at the mutant plants dozens of meters tall beside her. Just as despair overwhelms her, a giant panda suddenly appears.
The enormous panda, with its round face and giant dark circles, holds its paws together and makes adorable whining noises as it begs her for an apple.
Tian Tian: How could anyone resist that??? Here, here, you can have them all!
And so Tian Tian, the apple producer, is carried back to the giant panda's den.
From then on, the apocalypse for everyone else means hunger, death, and struggling to survive.
For Tian Tian, it means hugging (the panda), stroking its fur, and waiting to be fed.
A month later, little pandas, sika deer, golden snub-nosed monkeys, cats, rabbits, dogs, and all sorts of adorable critters in Beast City line up with treasures held in their paws, asking Tian Tian for fruit.
Somehow having infiltrated the "enemy camp," Tian Tian sprawls on the fluffy belly of her panda and floats in bliss.
Meanwhile, Long Aotian, still waiting by the Daming Lake, has something to say: ...Did you forget something?
Bonus Scene
The fluffball seemed so harmless that Tian Tian came to believe her little one was weak, pitiful, and helpless.
Until one day, the fluffy creature that always curled into a ball, loved apples, and made whimpering noises stood up and bit through a mutant tree dozens of times thicker than Tian Tian's neck. Only then did she realize the truth.
This thing seems to have another name: iron-eating beast!
Wait, wasn't the villain who ate the original character alive in the book an iron-eating beast too?
