Peaceful Serenity

This is a companion piece to *Wei Xi*, telling the story of Zhou Yan after he graduates from college. A dominant seme and a feminine uke, with lots of affection and warmth. Zhou Yan has always been uninhibited, refusing to be restrained, doing whatever he pleases and living a dissolute life. He can love without reserve, abandon someone, treat them well, or cast them into hell... Su Yining, on the other hand, is timid and insecure, shutting himself away in his own thoughts. He imagines the world as the little square of space where he lives, then gets by in his own little world of daydreams. He is terribly lonely and longs to be loved, yet he holds back, runs away, and doubts. He doesn't dare love anyone, or accept anyone else's love... This is the story of these two people. *The Fortress* says that people are much like fortresses: they must restrain themselves in order to find meaning in life. Bullied and discriminated against for being too feminine, Su Yining lives with deep insecurity. Zhou Yan is a brash rich kid from a prominent family, whose unhappy home life has made him arrogant and reckless in his private life. The two meet in a bookstore. From then on, Su Yining's quiet warmth builds a cozy home for the hot-tempered Zhou Yan. But can Zhou Yan become a safe haven for Su Yining, too? Theme:
