I Failed to Play Matchmaker for the Yandere Male Lead

Zhuo Wanwan transmigrates into a bit-part character who gets only one line of backstory in a novel. The original book is a monster-hunting story that's been left unfinished for ages. The heroine hasn't even appeared, and the author has already vanished. The System gives her two missions: First, make sure the male lead, Li Keyi, survives to the ending. Second, find him a heroine. Li Keyi is gentle and upright. How hard could that be? So she diligently plays matchmaker. The eldest senior sister of a certain sect is graceful and ethereal. She and Li Keyi would make a perfect couple, like a prince and princess. But the day after Zhuo Wanwan introduces them, Li Keyi throws the senior sister into a lake and leaves her soaking there all night. If he doesn't like the fairy type, then how about a seductive demoness to match his aloof demeanor? The charming sect leader is perfect. But Li Keyi suddenly runs her through the chest with his sword and pins her to a tree, leaving blood all over the ground. Damn it! Zhuo Wanwan trembles. She thinks she knows why the original novel was abandoned: the male lead's characterization has gone completely off the rails! * Li Keyi was never some noble, refined gentleman. He was gloomy, volatile, vicious, and ruthless, killing with a single blow. On the first day he met Zhuo Wanwan, they were accidentally bound by a life-and-death pact. No matter. The moment the pact is broken will be the day she dies. But later, when he finds a way to break it, he doesn't want to anymore. He holds Zhuo Wanwan tight in his arms. His icy hand caresses her neck, feeling the warmth of her pulse. He lowers his head and inhales the fragrance of her hair, entranced. "I don't want anyone else. I only want you." Not asking to live together, only to die together. Zhuo Wanwan: Help! Theme: Be independent and self-reliant
