People say you can’t have both love and a career. Many have told Yao Muyun that in this day and age, few men can be relied on, so women should put their careers first. But...
“As long as you’re willing to stay by my side, I’ll agree to anything.”
“I’ll love you with everything I have, because you’re the only light in my dark life.”
With you by my side, perhaps love and a career really can coexist~
That was the sentimental version of the blurb.
The cultivation world has developed for ages. Aside from the ancient sword cultivators, new talents emerge every year, giving rise to all kinds of practitioners: weapon cultivators, medicine cultivators, Buddhist cultivators, talisman cultivators, corpse and ghost cultivators, and countless others. The sheer variety is dazzling.
As a member of the cultivation world, Yao Muyun remains calm in the face of the outrageous tricks she hears about from the outside: power-ups, pay-to-win boosts, drug use, blood formations, self-detonation, and so on. She has her own unique confidence. With her mixed human-demon blood, she is sure there’s a place for her in the cultivation world.
Later, after seeing a steady stream of mixed-blood oddities, including immortal-demon, demon-devil, and immortal-devil hybrids, as well as even a relic of Buddha left behind in the human world, Yao Muyun thinks, What a trap. What kind of era was I born into? Maybe my identity really doesn’t count for much. Perhaps I should just lie flat and watch the big shots fight.

Reader’s guide:
1. A proper xianxia cultivation setting. It should be a story about love and careers, fairness and justice.
2. Lots of people like the heroine. This is a wish-fulfillment Mary Sue story.
3. The author has evolved and can now calmly write about men competing for women and women competing for men, as well as men, women, and women tearing into each other. Some side-character storylines include this.
4. The characters need cultivation techniques to fight, but for everything else, including food, drink, and entertainment, they need money (silver dollars). This is a grounded setting.
5. This is my first story centered on women and women’s interests. Female characters make up a significant portion of the cast. I hope I can pull it off.
6. Several kinds of men will appear in the story. A few prominent male characters are handsome and rich, though they also have plenty of women around them. But the male lead loves only the heroine. Other male NPCs will appear too: some are rich but stingy, unfaithful, hot-tempered, untrustworthy, ambitious schemers, and so on.
Theme: Respect the facts and accept our differences.
