Yanling City lies in the Five Spirits Continent and is a remarkable city in the Cangwu Kingdom. Five great rivers flow through Yanling City, and six immortal mountains stand beyond its walls, earning it the name City of River Spirits. Spring brings all things to life, summer brings clear lotus flowers, autumn brings withering and flourishing, and winter brings frost and snow. These are the sights visitors see in Yanling City, and they make many yearn for it all the more.
In Yanling City, a secluded alley on North Street is home to a lantern shop called Dream Ferry Pavilion, opened by a white-haired gentleman named Mo Lou.
The proprietor Mo's Dream Ferry Pavilion is unlike other shops. He trades only with those about to die, those who have already died, or those who are not human. He never trades with the living. It closes at sunrise and opens at sunset: that is the shop's rule.
Whether day or night, the people of Yanling City seldom go near this alley. Besides its ill-omened opening hours, they fear the proprietor's icy temperament. His snow-white hair and peerless beauty, along with his cold gaze fixed on you, are enough to make your legs buckle. No one wants to approach such a frightening place. Of course, some do come for his looks. Qiao Ge, the young master of Qiao Manor, visits every day and is on very good terms with the proprietor!
Proprietor Mo also has his own rules for doing business: bring gold, silver, jewels, rare treasures, or anything else of value. As the saying goes, money makes the devil turn millstones. If you wish to trade with him, prepare your payment during the day and come on your own to complete the transaction at night. If you have not prepared it, the price doubles. Otherwise, he will have to decline.
