Warm Island

Blurb:

Liang Yueyi first met Ye Muqian in a restaurant overlooking the sea at sunset.

The young man wore a white uniform. When he wasn't speaking, his expression was cool and aloof.

She was twenty-eight that year, surrounded by handsome, wealthy actors, yet he still made a deep impression on her.

Before their story began, he took three connecting flights and traveled for more than twenty hours to confess his feelings to her.

Liang Yueyi only said, "I don't like you, and I'm not short on boyfriends... Don't come looking for me again."

She was notorious in the entertainment industry, dogged by negative news, yet she never went out of her way to clear her name.

Gossip accounts claimed powerful backers were promoting her, that she had a colorful love life and men wrapped around her little finger.

Ye Muqian never asked her about any of it.

He went on with school as usual, brought her warmth, and kept her company through the winter.

Later, she was caught up in a scandal, blacklisted by her company, and abandoned by her powerful backers

Only then did Ye Muqian realize that he, too, had been played.

Years later, during an interview, a reporter asked her, "In real life, when was the moment you truly fell for someone?"

Liang Yueyi thought back to that winter in Capri, the sea breeze blowing against her, the sunset shining over the rocks,

when they kissed passionately on the beach...
