Shu Yue is an early childhood teacher, the kindergarten's Sister Moon.
Under pressure from her family, Shu Yue decides to give up on the person she has kept in her heart and accept her arranged marriage. Then she discovers that her blind date is Jiang Yanzhi, the man she has had a crush on for years.
His name was etched into her heart back when she was still wearing her innocent school uniform.
Tired of blind dates, Jiang Yanzhi asks her outright, "Will you marry me?"
Reason tells her to refuse, but she nods.
Later, the Shu family's biological daughter returns, making it obvious that she has feelings for Jiang Yanzhi. The engagement the two families arranged becomes awkward.
In everyone's eyes, Shu Yue has enjoyed the real heiress's privileges for long enough, so giving up a marriage that never should have been hers is only right.
Shu Yue can't bear to let go. She timidly tugs at Jiang Yanzhi's sleeve. "Are we still getting married?"
Jiang Yanzhi glances at her. "Yes. Why wouldn't we?"
Later, Jiang Yanzhi asks why she chose the name Moon. Unwilling to reveal her feelings, Shu Yue answers indirectly, "The moon is a metaphor."
After she falls asleep, Jiang Yanzhi tucks the blanket around her and murmurs, "But my love for you is plain and direct."
-The moon is a metaphor, just like the way I secretly love you.
-The moon is a metaphor, but my love for you is plain and direct.
Marriage first, love later? A secret crush comes true.
