She would make full use of this nine-tailed fox demon, who was precious from head to toe. Once he was well, she'd take his heart's blood and make a warm coat from his fur...

But later, when her dagger pierced his chest to draw blood and his white robes were soaked red, he went mad, his eyes reddening as he said, "Zhaoxue, my blood is useful to you. You won't leave me now, will you?"

Jiang Guiyan was cold by nature, with no heart or feelings. He came to the Profound Realm to undergo a love tribulation, break his seal, restore his demon bones, and reclaim his place as Demon King.

But through a twist of fate, he ended up marrying another woman.

He thought she would be no more than a passing cloud to him, so he put up with her bossy demands. By day, he washed her clothes and cooked for her. At night, she'd wake him up to use his spiritual power to keep her warm. He doted on her in public, then copied their marriage contract by lamplight in private.

He thought that once he passed his tribulation, he would kill her.

But when the time came, she held onto him with all her strength. Seeing the sparkling tears in her eyes, he somehow couldn't bring himself to unleash the killing move in his hand.

All he knew was that they had to be together for all eternity, bound by tangled love and hatred, their fates intertwined, never to part.

Nothing in this life frightened Jiang Guiyan. Not slaying demons, not schemes and plots, not falling from the heavens into the mud. Even having his cultivation destroyed, his heart's blood taken, and enduring the agony of his heart being devoured did not scare him.

The only thing he feared was Yun Zhaoxue telling him she didn't want him anymore.
