Bai Yan Ge is pregnant, but she's a widowed daughter-in-law from a marquis's household.

Just as she's feeling anxious and unsettled, her mother-in-law wants her second uncle to continue the family line for both branches.

Bai Yan Ge thinks the plan could work. She'll suffer a little physically, while her second uncle can be the child's father in name. Then neither of them will owe the other anything.

Lu Jing Shen is framed by someone and spends one wild night at a temple, but because he's been poisoned, he can't remember what the woman looked like.

When he races after her, she is standing in the courtyard, visibly pregnant, admiring the moon with her new husband and laughing happily.

He stands outside the wall and listens all night.

Ever since Second Master Lu returned home and saw his sister-in-law, he has often dreamed about her.

Recently, he had a new dream.

He dreamed that one moment, his sister-in-law was draped over him, whispering words of love.

The next, she was interrogating him, asking if he was still keeping to the rules of chastity for men.

He was furious. This woman had already been with another man herself, so what right did she have to care about his reputation for virtue?

"Are you still thinking about your dead husband?!"

But the woman coldly and mercilessly got up to leave.

"Then forget it. I'll find someone else."

Second Master Lu panicked. He really wasn't pure.

[Bonus Scene 2]

At the time, Second Master Lu listened at the wall day after day, watching his former sister-in-law dote on her new husband. His heart twisted with pain, but he couldn't bring himself to leave.

One day, he finally discovered the truth: his sister-in-law was the very woman from that night at the temple, and the child in her belly might well be his!

Overwhelming joy surged through him, followed by even greater disappointment and pain.

She was already married.

Late one night, Second Master Lu disguised himself and slipped into her room, threatening her as he held her captive:

"What? Now that you're married, you've forgotten your lover?"

He thought she would be afraid.

Instead, he watched as his sister-in-law wrapped her arms around him, her foxlike eyes gleaming with calculation as she breathed sweetly into his ear: "So what do you want? I'll do whatever you say."

"It'd be even better if you were willing to be my kept woman."
