Synopsis
Chen Yu
When Chen Cheng was little, Chen's mother had Chen Yu's fortune told. The fortune-teller said, "Born under the Seven Killings star, with a general star in his fate. He will face either great misfortune or great fortune, depending on the path he chooses. At twenty-three, he will face a deadly calamity. If he survives it, he will soar to success and meet the love of his life." Chen Yu certainly lived up to everyone's expectations, never taking the usual path.
Shu Zichen
Raised in a family of scholars, he has a scholarly air, yet a strikingly bold side. Ever since graduating from university, he has helped his family manage their company, keeping everything in perfect order. But life is full of surprises.
Shi Ke
The Shi and Shu families have been close for generations. When Shi Ke was little, he told Shu's mother, "When I grow up, I'm going to marry Zichen." The adults took the little boy at his word, and the Shi and Shu families arranged a betrothal for them.
The great hand of fate brought us together. Things are strange and all over the place, but we are the ones who made our lives what they are now. When the outcome wasn't what we wanted, we blamed fate so we could feel better about it.
