[Serenade of Peaceful Joy] A Promising Beginning, a Tragic End

The dusk lingers, and spring is already late.

A love like an orchid, now a dream, leaves only a sigh.

Let the years flow on like water.

In the endless years, I can no longer tell

where the road home lies.

I hate that I never knew what my heart held dear.

Moonlight like water washes away the faded splendor of the past.

I only wish to leave behind a line about staying by your side.

Note: This is a character-focused story about Empress Wen Cheng. It takes plenty of liberties, blending history with various dramas. I believe that the power of true beauty knows no gender.
