Her Bride

Yan Huai'an was beautiful from birth, but frail and often ill. When he was seven, he accidentally fell into the water and remained unconscious for four days. After every remedy his family tried failed, they called in a spirit medium.

The medium said the child had a special constitution, with fragrant bones and tender flesh, making him a prized delicacy to all kinds of ghosts and demons. It was a miracle he'd survived to the age of seven.

To ensure Yan Huai'an could grow up safely, his family had no choice but to arrange the sort of marriage the medium had prescribed, a truly terrifying one.

On his eighteenth birthday, Yan Huai'an would have to wear a red wedding dress and veil, hold a red wedding sash, and become "her" bride.

But when he turned eighteen, a strange graduation trip left him stranded in a remote backwater. He not only failed to make it home in time for the wedding, but nearly became a sacrifice to the local evil spirits.

At the last possible moment, "she" arrived.

Note:

1. This is not a gender-bender story, and there is no pegging. The author does not accept the idea of "spiritual gender-bending"; a weaker male partner does not make a story gender-bending.

2. The story is told mainly from the male protagonist's perspective. He is frail and beautiful, so please proceed with caution if that's not for you.

3. Don't ship the characters as BL or GL, whether they're protagonists or supporting characters. People can have friendships and family bonds as well as romantic relationships. Thank you for respecting that.

4. This is not a female-strong story or a power fantasy about a dominant female lead. There are villainous female and male supporting characters.
