The Outsider [Western Crossover]

He doesn't lie. He says things as they are. He refuses to disguise his feelings, and so society feels threatened by him. Easygoing, gentle, and accommodating all describe him, but so do cold, withdrawn, and socially inept. "Maybe 'indifferent' is going a little too far," Meursault said, lowering his head to leaf through the book in his hands, his voice still devoid of emotion. "It's just that 'I'm fine either way' and 'it's all the same to me.'" Inspired by The Stranger by French author Albert Camus. Theme: We are born to die, and toil to no avail.
