Dou Xiaoxiao transmigrates into a book and becomes a tiny person. Not a despicable person, but one small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.
In the book, she tries to help the heroine escape the clutches of the obsessive villain. She risks everything to steal a key, only to be caught on the spot. Unable to have the heroine's love, the villain flies into a rage and crushes Dou Xiaoxiao to death.
The day Dou Xiaoxiao arrives, the villain is a teenager with reddened eyes after being bullied by his classmates. He is looking at the only glimmer of hope in his life: a note from the heroine.
And Dou Xiaoxiao is standing right on top of that glimmer...
Dou Xiaoxiao falls onto the desk in fright. Even her voice trembles as she stammers:
“I-I-I didn't mean to! I can help you pass notes. Please let me go, okay?”
The teenage villain lowers his eyes and says nothing, but holds out his hand to her.
Trembling, Dou Xiaoxiao closes her eyes, ready to die.
Just as she thinks she's about to be crushed to death, he simply places her in the pocket on the left side of his school uniform, closest to his heart. The uniform has been washed so many times it's yellowed. He gently rubs her tiny head.
[Bonus Scene]:
One summer day, Dou Xiaoxiao and the villain share an ice cream.
The boy twirls a pen with the fingers of his left hand and pokes her puffed-up cheek with the fingers of his right.
“Want some? If you do, give me a kiss.”
Dou Xiaoxiao pouts and plants a kiss on his face. With a poof, the tiny person in his palm grows to full size, becoming a pretty young woman. Bewildered, she finds herself nestled in his arms.
