After watching Checkmate, I couldn't stop shipping Lu Yao and Qiao Chusheng, so I started writing this on a whim!
Lu Yao graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge, and now works at Sassoon Bank.
A chance encounter brings him together with Detective Qiao of the police station. From then on, his peaceful life is completely turned upside down, and he gets swept into the whirlpool of Shanghai.
Two people from entirely different worlds are brought together by a tangled web of cases. At first, neither wants anything to do with the other, but eventually they come to understand and appreciate one another.
Lu Yao thinks he might have been poisoned by someone named Qiao Chusheng. There's no cure.
Qiao Chusheng is known as one of the Eight Great Guardians of Shanghai. The White Master assigns him to serve as a detective in the British Concession.
He never cared much for the job, thinking he'd be better off in the underworld.
But then the first case he takes on at the police station brings him into contact with an interesting person, and he starts to enjoy being a detective.
He doesn't know whether he likes solving cases or the person solving them. It takes him a while to realize that perhaps that first glance was fate.
[Content Notes]
1. I haven't written much romance before, so I'm worried I won't be able to make it sweet.
2. There will be some original worldbuilding.
3. There may be original plotlines.
4. If I'm busy, I might not update daily.
5. This is a sweet little romance, so I'll keep the cases as brief as I can. Otherwise, the story would get too long. I'll only write a few cases I like.
Of course, that's just what I have in mind for now. It might end up being long, or I might wrap it up in just a few tens of thousands of words.
[New Story Now Updating]
Transmigrating to Start a Farm
Qi Le, a city office worker who grew up in a small village, is tired of the fast-paced life in the big city. He decides to quit his job and return to his hometown to start a second business, setting up a farm stay and leading the whole village to prosperity.
But after years away from mountain roads, he gets caught in a torrential downpour, misses a step, and falls off a cliff.
He transmigrates into the body of a poor scholar with nothing but four bare walls. His parents are both dead, and three little ones are waiting for him to feed them.
What good is studying? Can it fill your stomach?
Qi Le begins his difficult life as a farmer.
He can't help but look up at the sky and sigh. I only wanted to farm, make a fortune, and live a simple life. How did I end up in a hell-level challenge?
Luckily, he finds a helping hand by the roadside. The man is like an angel sent from heaven to help him, because his name is Wu Qiong.
Together, they're Qi Le Wu Qiong, which means endless joy.
With Wu Qiong's help, his life finally gets back on track. Wu Qiong helps him raise the kids and build a fortune.
But who could have guessed that the man he'd picked up would start looking at him in a strange way, plunging him into a different kind of crisis?
Qi Le at first: Heaven wants me dead!
Qi Le with Wu Qiong: This is the life!
Theme: A lighthearted love story
We were gone as soon as we got together, alas.
The emotional scenes are well written.
You are not sick! You are not sick! You are not sick! Do you know that you like him? (Very loud)
Qiao Chusheng's move of putting his hand on his chest reminded me of Shen Wei's move in Zhenhun. It was so touching! Keep up the great work!
It's very similar to what Santu would do hahaha
He's in a hurry, he's in a hurry, he's in a hurry!
Although I've seen the drama, it's written in such a big way that I feel very good about it. It's great. Come on!
Reasonable, too reasonable? When I was watching the TV series, I was thinking about why the heroine kept pestering Lu Yao instead of looking for his brother. Now, very good?
Haha, so did Lao Qiao occupy Bai Youning's role?
Thanks for your hard work! After watching the show, I felt overwhelmed and came to Jinjiang to see if there were any fanfics. After searching, it turned out there was indeed one. Your version is pretty good! The facts of the case are the same as in the TV series, and I already have a picture in my mind. This change feels quite reasonable, haha! I will pursue it.
