System: No, she’s still out in the fields.

The Jinjiang 521 Romance System accidentally bound itself to Feilina, making her the new Demon King of this world.

Because of the ridiculous settings imposed by its mainframe, the System couldn’t change its Host, so it had to settle for making do with Feilina. It told her:

“Since I’m a romance system, dear Host, you have to win over seven targets!”

Feilina took a look:

Target one: the fifteen-year-old second heir to the human empire.

Target two: a hero who had been lost for two years and still hadn’t reached the Demon King’s castle.

Target three: the young son of a demon tribe’s chief, who dressed as a woman.

Target four: …

Feilina couldn’t bear to read any further. She closed the information and listened as the System continued to ramble.

System: The new Demon King is gorgeous, the most beautiful woman in the land, and the strongest being in this world. She can fight the God of Light to a draw!

Feilina: Then why do I need to win them over?

System: ?!

-

Years later, the System, now a devoted servant, watched the favorability scores soar thanks to its Host Feilina’s creative methods. A magic dragon used to spray pesticides flew overhead, and the System fell silent.

-

#See that magic dragon that can destroy a city in one go? It’s our demon tribe’s civilian pesticide sprayer.#

#See that Demon King who can fight the God of Light to a draw? That’s our demon tribe’s defensive weapon.#
