Here's what happened: I was playing a paper-doll character-raising card game.
But I'm the sort of person who embraces all kinds of chaos, and as I played, something just didn't feel right. So I teamed up with my best friend, who played the same game, and we hit it off right away: we'd become calamities and stir up some fun.
It was a great idea. The only problem was that the character I created was a frail, sickly member of the plotting type.
Especially her ability, [Loom of Fate]. It could give others an absurd power boost, but each use lowered her maximum HP, and came with a random debuff such as fainting, coughing up blood, or temporary blindness.
That really wasn't suitable for charging into battle herself.
I didn't think much of it.
After all, there was more than one way to become a calamity and blow up the world. I didn't have to do it myself.
I'm the brains of the operation! (shouting)
So I started collecting paper-doll character cards and making them help me wreak calamity-level havoc.
I was having a great time collecting cards.
But why did the paper-doll characters always look at me so strangely...?
That was the weapon she wielded, the opportunity she commanded. She should have seized that moment to rise to the top and become the most honored lady of the Clocktower.
But when the sword of investiture came down upon her shoulder,
Agatha realized that she wanted to submit blindly to fate.

After finding a younger sister amid an inhuman loneliness, Chuuya should have been filled with the joy of finally having family. Instead, he suddenly realized that his newfound wholeness and health came from his sister bearing everything for him.
And he had become a god.

His lofty ideal remained far out of reach, but an invitation from a divine girl had arrived. She said she would make his ideal come true. She said the world was within reach.
The martyr told the demon to find someone to go see the new world for her.

War, hell, the human world. Fukuchi had walked alone for so long to protect the world. Finding someone who understood him filled him with such excitement; he was glad to have escaped despair at last and found a new purpose.
But when he turned around, he discovered the price was that his kindred spirit would suffer forever, with no peace in sight.

After I collected all the cards, I thought the paper-doll characters were all on the side of justice, and I'd need to pull a few tricks to get them to willingly help me become a calamity.
But I never expected...
They'd rush to destroy the world even faster than I would?!

+ Not a Fourth Calamity in the broad sense. The secret identities are of the compassionate, sympathetic sort.
+ The philosophy is basically: "All living beings suffer, so if we kill them all, they won't suffer anymore." That's the sort of calamity this is (glances aside). Of course, you could also take it as a pure chaos-loving troublemaker.
+ Lots of acting: warm on the outside, cold on the inside, and saying one thing while thinking another.
+ The card characters don't appear in any particular order.
+ The protagonist's ultimate goal is to charge into battle, in the form of a world war with factions fighting over territory and coloring in lines on a map (gestures). She and her best friend want to carve out their own territories and divide the world into three kingdoms (?). That's why the cards she collects will tend to be characters with strong combat abilities.
+ The world is a stage for its people. You and I decide our own fates.
