Ten years ago, a kidnapping case rocked the entire city. As a rookie detective, Zhou Jinchuan shot the kidnapper and rescued the little girl he was holding hostage.

Ten years later, after a botched plastic surgery operation, Shi Li, heiress to Xingyu Group, transmigrates into the body of her company's own star, Xi Gu. The moment she arrives, she's caught up in a string of murders in the entertainment industry. Wherever she goes, someone dies, and before she knows it, she's become a person of interest to the police.

They meet again for the first time in the interrogation room.

Shi Li sighs, "Honestly, we've got to be fated to keep running into each other."

Officer Zhou: "Don't try to butter me up."

They meet again at a bar.

Shi Li tests the waters. "I can't shake the feeling we've met somewhere before."

Officer Zhou: "Get a grip."

By their Nth meeting, they're at a crime scene.

Officer Zhou sneers coldly, "If you've got a habit of stumbling into murders, why don't you stay home and stop causing trouble for everyone?"

Shi Li smiles, unruffled. "Sure. At my place or yours?"

--"I had nowhere left to go, and here at last, I found a shore."
