Blurb:
This is not a transmigration or rebirth story, just a romance between a young woman who returned from studying abroad during the Republican era and a ruthless underworld boss.
In 1930s Shanghai, Anna returned from abroad and was preparing to marry when she discovered that her family had fallen on hard times, and her rich, handsome fiance was cheating with her stepsister.
Furious, she swore to take revenge, but she was alone and powerless. Just when she had no idea what to do, Dai Zongshan, an underworld boss and business tycoon infamous throughout Shanghai for his ruthless methods, took a special interest in her and wanted to make her his woman.
Anna scoffed. "Why are you spending so much to marry me?"
The boss looked at her with inscrutable eyes. "If I want something, I have to get it."
Anna: "You shameless, stinking thug!"
The boss: "Only a stinking thug would be willing to spend this much on you."
In the end, after all the twists and turns, Anna married the underworld boss. She discovered that becoming the boss's woman made it much easier to take down everyone who crossed her, including the boss himself. She trampled her cheating ex and his mistress underfoot, uncovered the reason for her family's decline, and seized the opportunity to build a career, making a name for herself.
Years later, the boss, his heart nurtured by love, placed wealth beyond measure before her.
Boss: "I've loved you for years, and now my wish has come true. This fortune is enough to last you ten lifetimes. Go find your own happiness."
Anna smiled coyly. "You're my happiness. I'm not going anywhere. In this life, I belong to you in life and in death."
You are a legend, a warm and tender love, the gentle rain that brings peace to my life.
P.S. A few things to know before reading:
1. This is a sweet romance: the male lead always cherishes the female lead and remains loyal and devoted. Even when he's mistreated, he never wavers.
2. The gangs and thugs in the blurb are just how the female lead views the male lead. He's much more respectable and capable than she imagines.
3. This is a melodramatic love story about playing hard to get, loving and fighting each other, and a proud heiress seeking revenge who eventually becomes the cherished one of a scheming underworld boss.

Blurb:
Lu Mingyue, born in the eighties, was unusual from a young age: bold and straightforward, she went after whatever she wanted and got it herself. Life was a breeze, and she lived like a queen.
At her amazing university, she spotted a heartthrob adored by everyone, the kind of guy who could make flowers bloom just by looking at him. Without a word, she marched over and dragged him away. From then on, she kept him by her side, waiting for him to graduate to husband. Of course, he had to trail after her like a puppy, or what use was he?
Difficult relatives? Please. She got lucky in this life: every last relative was a nightmare, a veritable collection of the worst of the worst.
The carrots were coming in too fast to wash the mud off, so Lu Mingyue rolled up her sleeves and took them on one by one, crushing them whether they were soft or hard. Gold-digging men, peacock-like women, all kinds of bullies and trash: they ran for their lives at the sight of her and wept at the sound of her name. The next time they saw her, they had the word "surrender" stamped on their foreheads.
Next, making money and building a fortune was a joy. She made so much she could barely count it, and got tired of counting. No golden finger needed: she relied on her business sense and drive... The full details are in the story.
Finally, her handsome husband became the head of a national laboratory at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He continued to spoil her like a princess, even more than he spoiled their daughter. The former campus belle, the current beauty of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the future beauty of a publicly listed company? None of them stood a chance. In this life, only his own wife was the most beautiful, coolest, sweetest, and absolutely not to be messed with.
A happy, fierce life needs no explanation.
Theme: True love above all
I've finished watching it all, but in the end there was no meeting between the male and female protagonists. It was so hard to watch. I didn't want an open ending! The author can add extra chapters!! I like it so much
Is the author considering writing a sweet side story?
Is the hero dead? Is it over?
I like the male protagonist, who is rich, generous, and a little shady. Ha ha
It's the ending I expected, but it's still so sad
From the writing, the male protagonist seems to be a single-minded person, but from the first few chapters, is he ever married???
Isn't this just drifting? Is this considered plagiarism?
Will the heroine and the hero get separated?
This man named Ding must be the one who eloped with the heroine! Did he escape before the battle or was taken away by the male protagonist... This book is about to end, right?
The second female lead was thinking a little too much, maybe she said that because she wanted the female lead to leave the male lead. The heroine is a little childish
