How an Angel Is Made

In a farm surrounded by wheat fields stood an orphanage, which was also where the Church of Light trained its core members. Every child in the orphanage had to learn magic there and become a qualified member of the church.

Sun Xiaoxiao was unexpectedly reborn in the body of an orphan named Joey. To her dismay, she had to spend every day playing house with a bunch of little kids.

She accidentally fell, and just as she got back to her feet, the matron took her small hand and said gently and affectionately, "Oh, my dear Joey, you're so brave. I'll ask Emma to give you an extra chicken drumstick tonight."

That evening, a huge chicken drumstick appeared on Sun Xiaoxiao's plate. The other children at the long table stared at her enviously.

One snot-nosed kid puckered their lips with longing, their eyes glistening with tears. Sun Xiaoxiao felt awkward under that gaze, so she gave the child her drumstick.
