Blurb
When Yun Yun was young, he watched helplessly as his father was framed and died on the battlefield.
He became the son of a loyal martyr, granted an official post in childhood and showered with fine clothes and generous rewards. Yet he never dared slack off. Step by step, he rose through the ranks, donned golden armor, and took to the battlefield to avenge his father. He became the greatest general of a prosperous age.
His life was full of ups and downs.
But what did it matter how much hardship he faced or how cold the world could be? As long as she was by his side, with him in the halls of power or accompanying him in the world beyond, that was enough.
She was the eldest granddaughter of the Duke's household, cherished above all others. After considering many suitors, she finally found the one she would spend her life with.
Everyone said he was taciturn and cold-hearted. The young lady was glad that she alone had seen his gentle, loving side.
Reading guide:
1. The novel is primarily told from the male lead's perspective, with a political intrigue plotline (not a power fantasy). The romance is mostly told from the female lead's perspective.
2. The first volume follows the protagonists' growth; the second focuses on romance, with one-on-one pairing and lots of sweetness. But the plot isn't driven by their relationship.
3. A reimagined history of the mid-Tang dynasty (during Emperor Xuanzong's reign). The male lead is based on a historical figure.
“The General's Everyday Spoiling of His Wife”
Yu Weiwang, the beloved daughter of the richest family in the capital, married the undefeated general Yan Xun. Everyone scoffed:
Could a pampered flower raised amid mountains of gold and silver endure the bitter cold of the frontier and the Yan family's frugal life?
Could the young hero, who charged across battlefields and killed without hesitation, devote himself to a delicate merchant's daughter who couldn't bear the slightest hardship?
Later, the radiant Yu Weiwang built a horse ranch and bred warhorses; cultivated farmland and raised livestock to secure provisions for the army; and promoted border trade and commerce... helping Yan Xun defend the country and fight for dominion over the land.
The unromantic young General Yan fought enemy forces and scheming ministers. Holding the soft, pale hand of Yu Weiwang, the merchant's daughter, he came to rule the land and witness its splendor.
A little scene:
On their wedding night, Yu Weiwang looked pitifully at Yan Xun, who had already fallen asleep, her eyes full of tears. In a tearful voice, she said:
“Yan Xun~ The bedding is too hard, and there are mosquitoes!”
Yan Xun opened his eyes with a cold expression. “Are you not going to sleep?”
After the young lady earnestly nodded, General Yan, scowling and impatient, spent the whole night swatting mosquitoes for her.
#A wealthy beauty who's great at making money × A tender-hearted tough guy who's great at war#
#Also known as “The General and His Wife Spoil Each Other Every Day”#
This novel has entered the National Development Through Science and Technology writing competition. Here is the reason for its entry:
The male lead is the governor of Yanmen Pass. He develops waterworks, teaches the people to build tiled-roof houses and city walls, repels foreign invaders, and guides the people in trading along the Silk Road, boosting the economy.
Theme: Face hardship and challenges with courage and strength.
I just like to watch the sweet daily life of the young couple
When I told you that this was General Yun's youngest son, my nose felt sore.
