When all is said and done, people live simply to stay alive. We live in this dusty world, hoping for the warmth of everyday life. We're all ordinary people, like little fish and shrimp in the vast ocean of life.
Two boys doing their best to live well crossed paths by chance, and in their quiet, chilly lives, they set off a dazzling display of fireworks.
(School story, happy ending, sweet, very little angst)
“Xia Mi?”
“Yeah?”
“Have you noticed your name sounds like something? Little shrimp.”
“Chinese characters are profound and complex. It's perfectly normal for words to sound alike. Besides, only someone with your kind of brain could come up with that. Hmph, Little Fish.”
“Sure, Little Fish it is. What's wrong with being a little fish? Maybe you haven't heard the saying: little fish eat shrimp.” Yu Ze smiled. (Insert: Little Yu's wicked grin.jpg.)
Guess who's the top. There'll be a surprise.
By the way, I'm an author who really wants to write an angsty story, but unfortunately, these two are both my beloved boys. I'm too nice to them to put them through anything, so you don't need to worry about major heartbreak. (I'm so disappointed in myself.) Also, I'm just an amateur. My writing isn't great, and I keep forgetting things, so please bear with me if you read this, orz! Honestly, my skills are especially poor. This is my first novel, the style isn't sophisticated, and I'm not very good at humor or foreshadowing. It may be as plain as a pot of water bubbling away, without much flavor, but it'll be warm.
Oh, I forgot to mention: I put a lot of care into writing this, but it's my first attempt, so think of it as practice. I'm not doing it for money. It's free to read, and if you like it, feel free to bookmark it or leave a comment. There's no need to send gifts or anything. Thank you to everyone who likes it.
Theme: Living in this world. Being alive is the greatest art.
