Tai Qing remembered a certain night: fine spring rain pattered against the window lattice, where magpies perched on branches. A gentle breeze carried the scent of damp earth, and candlelight shone through the window screen, casting an unusual shimmer... Reading by the window was especially delightful, from "Night Rain in Bashan" to "Clouds and Rain on Wushan," from "Light Rain on the Imperial Avenue" to "Drizzling, Relentless Rain," from "Rain Sparse, Wind Gusting" to "Listening to Rain in the Song Tower." Rain is a beautiful image. Even confined to a few thin pages of poetry, it can inspire endless reverie.
