[Bungo Stray Dogs] The Fire of July

When Fukuzawa Yukichi returned from a mission, he discovered that his junior fellow disciple had run off with the girl they had raised together for six years.

If you turned this premise into an eight o'clock soap-opera family drama, it would go like this: A dutiful husband comes home from a business trip to discover that his wife has eloped with their daughter and her lover. (Crossed out!)

If you made it a crime reenactment show, it would go like this: A certain perverted old man heartlessly abducts an underage thirteen-year-old girl and takes her off to kill and rob. (Crossed out again.)

But the real story is simply that a certain military doctor surnamed Mori took a thirteen-year-old girl to the battlefield.

The female lead's pairing is with Ango. The secondary pairing is Mr. Mori and Lord Fukuzawa.

Theme: A girl's story of saving herself
