The Hero's Bold Adventure in Showbiz [From Ancient Times to the Present]

Lin Ye was a legendary hero, gifted and brilliant, with superb martial arts and both virtue and talent. He was deeply revered by the martial world. Sadly, he suffered from a chronic illness and wouldn't live past twenty-five. At twenty-four, with his life nearing its end, he arranged his affairs, used his divine skill to protect himself, and lay peacefully in a golden nanmu coffin to be buried. A thousand years later, his grave was dug up, and his golden nanmu coffin was moved into a museum. Lin Ye unexpectedly woke up and seized the chance to escape. A thousand-year-old corpse had gone missing from the museum. * A kind stranger takes in the unconscious Lin Ye, lying in an alley, and gets him medical care. A baffling illness from a thousand years ago proves easy to cure a thousand years later. To repay his benefactor, Lin Ye takes odd jobs everywhere. Someone tricks him into working as an extra and martial arts double at a film studio. By chance, he appears on the variety show The Martial Arts Tournament, where he displays his skills, effortlessly climbing sheer walls and vaulting across rooftops. The whole audience is stunned. "Fake! It has to be fake! Definitely special effects!" "The show's gone overboard. They're so blatant with the wires!" "That old man fencing with him is a plant, right?" "Still, he really is handsome!" "He's dancing and painting with that huge brush? Give me a break!" "The post-production is amazing. I wonder which master painter lent them that treasured painting?" When some viewers nitpick every detail, the show's producers come out to set the record straight. Director: No wires, no special effects. The guest did it all with his own skills. Old man: I'm the 120th-generation successor of the Lin family, and currently the president of the Martial Arts Association. Young Master Lin Ye's swordsmanship really is superior to mine. Master painter: This painting by Lin Ye, Sword Dance, is elegant, forceful, and masterful. It's a long-lost style of the Junshan School. Magnificent! Truly magnificent! If Young Master Lin is willing, I'd like to offer ten million to buy it. Viewers: ??? The next day, an eagle-eyed influencer digs up more revelations. "Lin Ye was the martial arts double for the star of the hit film The Demon Lord!" "Lin Ye was also the martial arts double for that water-fighting scene in Love on the Water!" "Lin Ye was the martial arts double for the star of Flying Immortal!" "Lin Ye was the martial arts double for the lead in The Swordsman's Journey, too!" Whether it's an immortal fantasy drama or a martial arts drama, Lin Ye is everywhere as a martial arts double. Fans: He's handsome, skilled, and has an amazing body. Why be a martial arts double? He should be a star! What? He can't act? No problem! We'd gladly pay to watch him in action movies! When The Chivalrous One, starring Lin Ye, hits theaters, everyone falls to their knees in admiration. If that's not good acting, then what is? * At the Pegasus Awards ceremony, the host asks, "Who would you most like to thank, Mr. Lin?" Lin Ye looks out at the audience. "My landlord. He gave me a new life and brought me good fortune." Below the stage, the refined and gentle man meets his gaze with a smile. ** Gu Langyue is an antique collector. One day, he rescues a sick young man who has collapsed by the roadside. When the young man wakes up, he clasps his hands in greeting and says in an old-fashioned manner, "No words can repay your great kindness. I'll keep it in my heart. There is much time ahead, and I will surely return your kindness one day." Gu Langyue finds him amusing and jokes, "If you give yourself to me, I'll spend the rest of my life by your side." The young man frowns and thinks for a moment before solemnly replying, "Once I've made a name for myself, I'll give you moonlit nights among the flowers." Gu Langyue: ... He'd suddenly gotten into character. Later, Gu Langyue sits in the audience at the Pegasus Awards ceremony, watching the young man stand onstage, full of spirit and dazzling in the spotlight.
