Harry Potter: Summer on Privet Drive

In 1988, I looked through the window and saw a black-haired, green-eyed boy carried by the wind onto the chimney. That was the first time I saw him, and the first time I encountered magic.

I once looked forward so eagerly to our worlds intersecting, but in the end, I couldn't even take the tiniest step toward him.

I once believed I had extraordinary powers and could save the world. But reality eventually wore down my hopes and shattered my confidence.

And yet that ordinary Muggle girl eventually learned magic.

I dedicate this story to the Muggle girl who still believes in magic and stumbles her way through growing up.

I also wish all you young witches and wizards the best of luck in the magical world.

A few things to know before reading:

1. The story is told in first person and contains a lot of action and introspection. The heroine is an ordinary girl who grows up over the course of the story.

2. This story does not affect the original plot. It includes headcanon and original characters.

3. I wrote this on a whim, with no outline, and finished it in one go. My writing is limited, and the paragraphs are rather long. Also, I haven't read the original Harry Potter books or watched the movies in years, so there may be inconsistencies or plot holes.

4. Thanks for reading!
