[I accidentally started writing this. It's an upcoming story, and I'll begin once it gets enough favorites.]
1.
Fang Yi once starred in a sweet drama with two male leads.
The show made him and the other male lead, Jing Rong, an overnight sensation, with countless fans shipping them online.
Unfortunately, Fang Yi proved through experience that their pairing was destined for a bad ending.
On the day filming wrapped, he confessed to Jing Rong and was rejected.
Jing Rong considered himself completely straight.
After his breakout success, Fang Yi's fame plummeted. He turned down every script of the same type, going from being offered dual-male-lead dramas to having no work at all. Through his own efforts, he became a nobody in the bottom ranks of the industry.
Meanwhile, Jing Rong, who had once worked with him, was lucky enough to take a completely different path. He won the Best Actor award and dominated the box office.
2.
Two years later, when the sweet drama had long since faded from the spotlight, Fang Yi suddenly received an invitation from the production company to join a variety show centered on the drama's onscreen couple.
The company invited him and Jing Rong to appear on the show Love Rekindled as the once-popular couple, giving their romance another chance.
Fang Yi approached it like a job. He learned Jing Rong's tastes, hobbies, interests, and life story in advance. Every little thing he said was interpreted by their fans as, "He loves him so much."
Compared to Jing Rong, who couldn't answer a single question onstage, Fang Yi was the consummate professional.
Until the moment came to put on a real show, and Fang Yi started to panic.
Everyone else is holding hands. Should we hold hands too?
Fang Yi sneaked a glance at Jing Rong's hand. Before he could say a word, Jing Rong took his hand without hesitation and laced their fingers together.
Everyone else is sleeping in the same tent while camping. Should we share a tent too?
Fang Yi finished pitching the tent. Before long, he looked up to find Jing Rong had already set out two pillows inside. All that was left was to say good night.
Everyone else says goodbye after filming. Should we do that too...?
At least, that's what Fang Yi thought.
But that day, he suddenly found himself in Jing Rong's arms. He struggled twice, but couldn't break free.
Fang Yi innocently lifted his chin and, in an instant, understood the meaning in Jing Rong's gaze.
What do I do if the straight guy who rejected my confession seems to want me back?
