As he hatched, Luo Bai saw a young dragon, standing within a hazy halo of nine colors. The youth reached out to him, drawing him into new threads of cause and effect and forging a bond so tangled it twisted out of shape.

And Luo Bai did not let go of his hand.

"The Beautiful Legend of the Divine Realm: During the Dragon God War, ■■■■ fought without hesitation for the soul beast faction. After their defeat, their divine position was stripped away, their divine weapon taken, and their divine core gravely wounded. Taking the last of the Dragon God's kin, the Silver Dragon King, they fled to the lower realm, and their whereabouts remain unknown..."

A young deity with pink-and-blue hair and eyes hid in a corner of the Divine Realm, absorbed in the divine scripture in his hands. He even murmured the words on the page aloud, until his smiling father interrupted him.

"Xiao Qi, what are you reading?"

"Dad! Look at this divine scripture! Did a god like this really exist? Who were they? Why is their name blacked out?"

"The names erased by the will of the plane and the laws of the world all belong to evil gods whose crimes are too numerous to record. Why should Xiao Qi care who this sinful god was?"

"But this divine scripture is called The Beautiful Legend of the Divine Realm! If the will of the plane gave it a title like that, doesn't it mean it loved that nameless god?"

"...You can't judge everything by appearances."

"All right, Dad. Then what about their legendary divine weapon? The scripture says it had a beautiful name, just as beautiful as that deity."

"I'm afraid Dad doesn't know about that. Does Xiao Qi want a divine weapon too?"

Some soul beasts called them a harbinger of calamity, a god of slaughter who proved the Dao through killing. But many more remembered the rain that fell from the sky when the continent suffered its worst drought in millions of years.

An evil god and a god of slaughter, yet also the bringer of life's renewal... a beautiful legend.

Countless living beings sang a hymn lost to the river of history: "Dragon wings blot out the sky, dragon claws split the abyss. Dragon scales shine bright, dragon eyes sparkle like jewels. Sun and moon rise and set, splendor shines eternal. Endless blessings, everlasting peace..."

Amid the ancient song, ice-blue dragon eyes gazed toward a world millions of years in the future.

A dragon legend, a taboo of the Divine Realm, and the new ruler of the soul beasts, inheritor of the Dragon God's will. They led the surviving soul beasts out of encirclement and launched one counterattack after another against humanity. At last, the legendary divine weapon was once more in the hands of the legendary greatest evil god, unleashing a vast fury upon the continent as a symbol of vengeance and punishment.

Wherever the "Terror of Ice and Snow," which made humanity's leaders tremble at the very mention of it, passed, there stretched a boundless world of ice and snow. Seen from above, it looked just like that sliver of moonlight that had once illuminated the Far North ten thousand years ago.

Some humans remembered, too...

Once, a peerlessly beautiful figure in snow-white appeared out of nowhere in Eastsea City of the Federation. Soul-guided images of them spread across the Federation, and people called them "moonlight on falling snow." They lingered in the hearts of countless Soul Masters, engraved there for years, never forgotten.

A few things to know before reading:

The protagonist is a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast, the child of Ice Empress and Snow Empress (breaking up the Tianmeng-Ice Empress pairing).

The protagonist is top-tier in both looks and strength, and goes all in on their career (roughly a 6:4 split between career and romance).

The protagonist is absolutely not a love-struck fool, and values family above all. They are always in the dominant position in relationships and put reason first. They can be moved by love, but will never compromise for it. They are even harsher on themselves than they are on others. If that's not your thing, proceed with caution.

The protagonist leads the soul beast faction and is highly nonhuman. Don't judge their actions by human morality, ethics, or ideas about gender! This is very important.

About the romance:

Some original characters have their genders changed, including but not limited to Tang Wutong, Wang Qiu'er, Gu Yuena, and Dong Qianqiu. Canon couples are broken up.

Everyone has a one-sided crush on the protagonist. Those who will have mutual feelings later on are Huo Yuhao, Tang Wutong as a man, Di Jin (Three-Eyed), Xiao Hongchen, and Gu Yue as a man.

The main story is BL, with no fixed top or bottom. Feel free to imagine the protagonist as either. Because of a mandatory character setup, the protagonist has to be the top, though some intimate scenes will have them switch.

Other warnings:

There will be some criticism of the character Tang San and the original work. Some of the original novel's questionable behavior and characterizations will be changed.
