Yao Yu served as regent for eighteen years. The court officials cursed him, the emperor distrusted him, and when he died, only a cat remained by his side.

Reborn, Yao Yu helped the second prince, Qi Jing, ascend the throne.

Watching his cat become the child he'd raised, diligently ruling the realm, filled his old father's heart with comfort.

Until one day...

Qi Jing said, "I'm done. I want to abdicate."

Yao Yu narrowed his eyes. "Why?"

"It's cold. My hands freeze when I read memorials..."

Yao Yu gritted his teeth and tucked that paw into his arms to warm it.

"I'm done. The imperial robes are too ugly."

Yao Yu grudgingly made them matching outfits.

"There's still room in my harem for one more beauty..."

Yao Yu bundled himself up and moved in. From then on, life in the Yanbei court was simply wonderful.

The Male Concubine blurb:

Shen Zhiqing, chancellor of the Southern Liang, has a white moonlight in his heart. He goes to ask for the man's hand in marriage, only to see Regent Ji Yan torture him to death.

From that day on, Shen Zhiqing becomes the emperor's blade, tasked with killing Ji Yan for him.

A year later, the emperor gives Shen Zhiqing a male performer to warm his bed.

As Shen Zhiqing holds the man's face, so much like Ji Yan's, he remembers the look in Ji Yan's eyes as he died.

Like a tiger pouncing on its prey, ready to bite through his throat.

Shen Zhiqing: "What... is your name?"

The man takes his hand and presses a kiss to its back. "This servant is called A-Yan."

From that day on, the chancellor's household has a new male concubine.

Ji Yan never imagined he would see Shen Zhiqing again.

He forces his eyes away from the neck that looks like it would snap with a single squeeze, kneels down, and kisses him.

The man Shen Zhiqing loved is dead. This time, no one can take him away.

Shen Zhiqing: The regent killed the person I loved most, then grovels before me. What does he want?

Ji Yan, who has regained power, kneels before Shen Zhiqing and takes his cool feet into his hands. "You."

Shen Zhiqing trembles with anger.

Ji Yan: I killed him because he stole my name and took your love. He didn't deserve you.

Shen Zhiqing: ...
