[Crossover] The Reclusive Boy, Dongyun-kun

"Useless things have no place in this world."

That was what Dongyun's mother told him.

So he became useful.

You have to choose friends who are useful to you, and learn to read the room, or life will be exhausting.

A genius's friends must be geniuses too. That was what his father, who had always been very strict with him, taught him.

When Dongyun Jieren was ten, he became an orphan and was passed between his relatives.

By the time he was eleven, Dongyun Jieren still hadn't managed to make any friends, so he ran away from home.

Whenever Dongyun spoke to someone for the first time, he would bow and ask:

"Are you a genius? Please be my friend."

He wanted friends so badly that he maxed out his intelligence stat. But in other people's eyes, he was someone whose provocation skill had been maxed out from birth.

Dongyun: Are you a genius? Please be my friend.

A very poor white tiger: I'm not, but my coworker is.

A nobody who loves vanilla milkshakes: I'm not, but my teammate is.

A boy who can see yokai and has a Book of Friends: I'm not, but Nyanko-sensei might be.

A psychic who loves coffee jelly: I'm not, but my big brother is.

A teacher who wears an eyepatch and gets mistaken for blind: Oh, I am!

After looking into it, Dongyun's friends turned out not to be geniuses, but their friends were.

"I just want friends who are genuine."

"That's all" (laughs)
