[Dream of the Red Chamber] The Powerful Official's Wife

[The characters are older than in the original; they meet as adults]

[Marriage Before Love]

Lin Daiyu has a secret. Every night, she finds herself inside the body of a stranger. The people around her look at her with either respect or fear, addressing her reverently as, "Commander Lu."

Everyone knows that Grand Secretary Lu Yuan has a volatile temper and a ruthless streak. He shows even a little warmth only at night.

One night, Lu Yuan is taking a brief rest, his slender wrist propped up, while overseeing preparations for a grand ceremony. When he wakes, he is already far away in Yangzhou. Frowning, he watches a refined, handsome middle-aged man weep beside his bed.

At the same time, Lin Daiyu wakes up to discover, for the first time, that she has taken over someone else's body in the daytime, too.

She is in unfamiliar surroundings. A group of people are discussing how to stage a rebellion during the ceremony. After giving it some thought, Lin Daiyu gently reminds them, "As subjects, the most important thing is to serve your ruler and your country loyally."

The loyal followers of Grand Secretary Lu furrow their brows. What kind of thing is that to say!
