I Hear You Have Two Loves

On the thirtieth day of the twelfth lunar month, snow falls thick and fast.

I prepare a table full of food and wine and send someone to fetch my husband, who has spent several days away, lingering at the brothels.

In the end, I stand amid the flames and smile at him.

I say, "Husband, do you want to know what kind of demon I am? I'm a paper-bound spirit, even lower than a demon. Only fire can burn me to ashes."

Think of it as my New Year's gift to you.
