SKY BLUE

He is that blue sky, far beyond my reach.

He is also the phoenix soaring over the blue sky and open fields.

The sky was never something ordinary people could possess.

Nor was the phoenix a creature of this mortal world.

When the wheels of fate began to turn,

the paths that had crossed returned once more to their starting point.

Who once encountered happiness,

and who brushed past it at the very threshold?

You are the blue sky I have searched for in my heart for so long.

But in a moment of carelessness,

I lost you.

Does that mean

my world will be overcast from now on?

That year,

the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.

You came on a gentle breeze,

and gracefully arrived by the side of someone

who wanted nothing from this world.

Your smile was as radiant as the cherry blossoms,

and completely changed the way I saw life.

I could

give you the rest of my life,

if only you would stay by my side forever.
